Mid Week pick me up - Step 11 -" Side by Side the Twelve Steps and A Course in Miracles"

Next week will be the last Step and the Course quotes to go with it. Stay tuned, though, for Monday Mind Openers and Friday FUN DAYS for more insights and ideas to open, heal and make you happy. (To find the book, scroll down on the left side bar)

Step 11 -
“Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.”

“We trust our ways to Him and say ‘Amen.’ In peace we will continue in His way, and trust all things to Him. In confidence we wait His Answers, as we ask His Will in everything we do.”
A Course in Miracles, Workbook, page 488

These steps are truly just the beginning. Our life will be an ongoing, step by step, journey to a goal which only seems down the road, but is ours to enjoy now.
Each of us will find those materials, books, workshops, and disciplines which will help to reinforce this process for us. And each philosophy will offer the same thing: The Answers are within. Find your Guide there, and let Him show you the way.
Taking that inward journey will follow the same approximate trajectory. First we admit that we need help. Next we must find some method that teaches us how to ask. And then, importantly, we must be willing to be quiet and listen. The successful pathway will offer not only a discipline that teaches us meditation or prayer, but places an emphasis on practical application. If you cannot use it in your life, your relationships, and on the job, then of what value is it?
Simply put — we learn to go deep within and then practice daily, hourly, instant by instant to turn to Him Who knows.
Within “A Course in Miracles” the process is carefully explained in the Text and taught to us through the Workbook for Students. By reading and practicing the Course we learn to consistently go to the Holy Spirit, Who gives us the peaceful answer. No longer are we alone, for One Who understands our pain, yet knows exactly how to lead us out of misery, is within our minds, always.
